After getting to fill the tank up to the brim I have done a good mix of driving and hit 330 miles to a tank. Even driving like a loon hasn't affected the mpg and I surprised and happy it gets around the mark others on here have mentioned for the 1.6 zetec.
However, the engine feels like CRAP. Jerky on gear changes, hesitations on throttle usage, extended high idles on first start of the day or sitting there for a while.
I know sometimes it will have a high idle to get warming up but the other issues are annoying. The jerky changes piss me off as randomly the car will decide it's not going to do a normal rev drop and either go too fast or to slow with that and cause me to either take ages changing gear to account for which one it decides to do. Sometimes it will just bog down like Mark Webber does every F1 race or jerk like crazy making me look like a 1.0 corsa boy racer trying to get to 30 in less than 20 minutes with the car pitch changes.
Ideas? It's had spark plugs in the last year, cone filter only to account for the mondeo servo and master cylinder but I didn't hold back on price, two oil changes in the last year with filters. Yes it's done 123,000 miles but I've been looking after it as best I can!
