Basically.
I'm gettin a shit idle from it, and it's only gettin worse.
I've got the day off today, so I intend on checking the maf, iscv, fuel filter, spark plugs and coil pack.


Sometimes it sounds like it's about to stall, but doesn't.
But it's also lumpy while driving at any speed. It's spluttering and being lumpy..
If I put my foot down, then it'll take a couple of seconds before I get knocked back into my seat, lol.
It should be instant, and not lag? basically.

any input for those of you who have dealt with a puma engine. or a similar engine.

Coil pack, first thing to try. Had the same problem although might need to change lambda

Start with coil pack and clean stufd and go on, ive had this with my si and my zs. Luckily its almost gone on my zs.. until I put high lift cams in. Now it idles everywhere :)

Mhm. Pretty sure it doesn't have a lambda cause it's got a straight through exhaust, no cat.

Should probably post less on your phone, too many spelling mistakes :P

I'm just about to go out in it, so I'll have a poke around..

Glad to see you kept the trim on the car.
I think silver looks better with it :D



I'm thinking, it's the ISCV sensor, cause, it goes like shit once I put my foot down, but doesn't like when it has barely any throttle or idle'in.
However, I'll check everything over later. It's gunna be a car fiddling day!

I've got a straight through exhaust without a cat but I still have a lambda. It's in the downpipe, so don't rule out having one.

But as said, I'd go with coil pack first. It should be one of those things that's replaced anyway if it never has been.

Well, it has magnecor ht leads. and number 1 has broken off, instead of the metal casing stuff being inside the rubber tube, it's snapped off, and I assume, it's not working as well as it should if it was fitted correctly.

It starts fine, but then sounds like it starts idling like poo, like it starts running on 3 cylinders, but runs FINE when I put my foot down..
Really weird.

I did take the icv off, but couldn't see much wrong with it..
should I just blast it down with ipa cleaner? :P

what am I looking for on a non working icv?

I'm putting it down to the broken HT lead.
It's sparking, but I don't think it's working well enough for idle.

I blasted the ICV clean, and it ran alright for a bit. But it's started idling lumpy.

any help? cheeeers
