hi
as it says my both my front doors wont open from the outside. i turn the key in the barrel and it wont open. the passengers door been like it for ages, but the drivers side has just happened
so to open my car i have to get into the boot and open it from the inside. not a good look in tesco!!

so does anyone know why this has happened? how it has? and how can i fix it be i get nicked for stealing my own car

could be the bar inside come of the lock only way to tell is by takin door card off

yeah iv taken that all off. cant really see whats going on it must have something to do with the cable? or is it the lock? ahhhh i donno

Is it definately the lock and not the handle? The handles have a habbit of braking where they connect to a piece of rod.

Can you explain whats going on more?

So when you put the key in the lock and turn it to unlock it, does it turn to the left as it would when you unlock it? Or does it push againt the key and not allow it?

If it unlocks it as it should, it sounds like the door handle is the problem. As Louis said, the metal rods can come off, lose, or break the clip.

To me it sounds like a barrel problem though. To fix it you either need to take the barrel off and inspect it, possibly rebuild it. Or get a new lock set.

what was up with it?

well i striped the door right down so everything was loose. covered the whole lot in wd40, but there is a black metal cover that covers the rods and it also is a runner for the window. so i prized that off, and sprayed even more wd40 on the rods and everything. all worked great when it was apart. put it all back together, but the metal cover seemed to stop free moment on the rods. :S so iv just all put the screw half in. the rods space to move. odd really. but all works fine for now!
