Does it smell of fuel. Could be over duelling or is there any noises it makes?

You say you had trouble wiring it in. What sort of trouble and have ya done a compression test, and make sure that all the sensors are on

It's a good sign if It will at least start, when It runs does it run ok and Not miss firing and lumpy, if It runs ok For the 2 seconds then I would look at fuel supply like is fuel pump running ok when started as ecu looks For a run signal to keep pump running other thing is fuel pressure

Thats got to be a fueling issue, as Will said, check the fuel pump is running still, and down to fuel pressure.. I know it sounds silly but my mates 1.8 did that once, and it was the fuel filter!

Some times the wiring onto the pump fails and dont make a good connection. Had it last year.
