I had my Fiesta serviced about 3 weeks ago. Since then, I noticed that taking left hand bends hard caused the oil light to come on briefly. It slowly got worse until it was coming on everytime I cornered, so I checked the oil level this morning and it was off the bottom of the dipstick! I topped it up and it's not come back on yet.

Does the Si really use this much oil or have a probably got a leak (I couldn't see anything obvious and thought the garage would have said something if there was as the owner is my Dad's mate).

take it back innit,i aint got a clue but if you pay for a service you want it done properly, seein as its yer dad's mate he would only be too happy to rectify the problem, wouldnt he?

i know bugger all but:

is the sump plug in properly?
is the oil filter screwed on properly?

i once worked at a garage and they would put in what oil grade that comes close, like your car needs 5w 30 but they'd put in 10w 30 as its much cheaper and a more common engine oil grade so i'd always provide the oil when u have it changed just to know your si is getting a proper service with the right oil

Mine is the same, ever since I did an oil change on it and replaced what was in there (probably Ford Motorcraft stuff) with Magnatec 5w30 it gets through stupid amounts of oil, if I do a couple of hundred miles in it I have to put in another half litre of oil I think the problem is down to the Magnatec stuff not being thick enough so when it gets a service I'll ask them to use Motorcraft 10w30 instead.

Checks I did on mine:
1. Check the sump plug is secure
2. Check the oil filter is screwed in nice and tight
3. Check exhaust to see if its burning oil
