Does it click when you try to operate it?

If it doesn't then it is probably knackered

- that's one way of checking... i don't know how to do it with multimeters and shizzné

Drives:
you need to charge the trigger side of the relay to see if it bridges pin 30 + pin 87 ( assuming its a 4 pin relay ). 85 is ground and 86 is the trigger
