I love my Fiesta Si but it sometimes has a little trouble at lower revs. if im just causually driving around the engine occasionally seems to struggle around 2000rpm in any gear. it doesnt happen all the time but when it does happen its hard to stop it as it lurches and sticks at 2000. I try going down a gear an slamming it but again it sticks at the same revs. So far i've had the problem in 2nd, 3rd and 4th, going up hill and on a flat ... the only link i can see is that it only happens at 2000 revs. The only way i can clear it is to let it drop down to 1500 then slam it until it's past it.

I have twice just put my foot down, it struggles, splutters and lurches for a little bit then seems to get past it and accelerates away. I'm just starting to get worried because when this happens I cant accelerate properly.

Any ideas what it can be???

Has it been serviced recently? Might just need a good cleaning out of some fluids etc. Or something like the MAF might need cleaning, thats my unprofessional help

I'd, plug car in and check for faults, or take a listen at sticking revs check the butterfly and cable for proper function (CLEAN). Then i'd unplug the maf and recheck. Then If no luck I'd buy a TPS from somebody on here and expect it to sort it.

and while you in the engine bay i'd remove the ISCV(idle speed control valve) and give that a quick clean too

If your going to clean the maf you can remove the two torx screws in the plastic portion and clean the sensors using brake cleaner.

Sounds very much a problem i had

i cleaned the MAF wires (be careful not to break them), replaced the ISCV, throttle position sensor, throttle butterfly, speed sensor on the gearbox and eventually in turned out to be an air leak so its worth checking all this

Quite easy to check for leaks with a bit of brake cleaner around gaskets, that's how I've been taught anyhow.
