Following my recent post in general "what doesnt work on your Si", ive narrowed my problems down that i need help with, which are the following.

1. Rear washer jet doesnt work
2. Airbag light flashing (took bulb out at the moment)
3. remote boot release not working.
4. Car juddering under acceloration

1. First off, my rear washer jet doesnt work. Ive tried putting a pin down the nozel and checked that the tubes not leaking. Looking at the pump below the washer bottle it pumps both front and rear as its got two lines coming into it. So is the pump faulty even though both my front washer jets work, or is it that the rear lines bloked somewhere.

2. My airbag lights flashing and when i took off the sterring wheel barrel surround i found a yellow wire hanging which has snapped so iam guessing thats the reason for this problem. I wasnt too sure about soldering it back on...cause iam not keen on playing with an airbag. Whats the best way to work on a airbag, disconnecting the battery and what else ?.

3. Checked the fuse on the boot release and thats ok. Even changed all the cabling and connections on the wiring from the fuse box to the switch and from the switch to the tailgate. Checked the green relay on the back of the fusebox which is fairly new anyway and all the pins look brand new still. Cleaned all the tailgate pins and the contact plate and still nothing. Could this be the the boot release motor has died. It was a 2nd hand one off ebay and its been on the car and working for about 6 months.

4. Had a new lower arm and bushes and trackrod end. But the car is still juddering under acceloration. Suggestions to me have been to change the fuel filter and HT leads, plugs are new. Ive also got a caliper thats not working properly and the pad is catching the disc.........could this cause the juddering. I also know that i need 2 new gearbox mounts. What else could it be ?......bent driveshafts or faulty fuel pump ?

the commen foult is the jet blocking so dissconect the hose from the jet (in the tailgate) make sure uv got some thing to catch the fluid, work the rear washers fluid should come out if not check the hose in the rubber gaitter (the bit that joins the back ov the car roof to the top ov the tailgate) try it again (working the washers, if it works before u check the gaitter bit then get the jet out and blow in to the front of it, and what evers blocking it should come out

u'll have to get a new clock spring coz soldering is not recomended
the clock spring if u dont know is what the yellow connection should b connected to it looks like a two round discs with wires attatched to it on both sides,

it should be the gearbox mounts but u might need to change the fuel filter, if the juddering is only under exeleration then try the ht leads

if the brake discs are "rubbing" ull feel the brake pedal pumping back at u when u brake hard

1. Rear Jet Washer:
I diconnected the hose from the rear washer jet and tried it and nothing, so the jet isnt blocked. I'll try and disconnect near the boot gromit thing and test there. The hose must be blocked somewhere.

2. Airbag Yellow Wire:
I'll have a look into getting a new clock spring for the airbag thingy then. Might look on ebay for one. Once ive got one might need some advice on fitting unless its in my haynes manul somewhere.

3. Boot Release:
that started working all on its own

4. Car juddering under Acceleration:
I went and got HT leads and fuel filter tonight from halfords (3 for 2 offer so picked up oil filter for free ) Only cost ?35 for all.
Only took about 30 mins to put them all on.

I also got some STD Complete fuel system cleaner (?14.99) and went and filled the tank up with Shell Optimax and put the cleaner in the tank.

I'll give it a good blast tomorrow and see if its any different although i fear it is the gearbox mounts cause I know that they are actually worn and the HT leads and fuel filter werent actually up for renewal yet, but even if it doesnt do the trick, putting new parts and cleaning the fuel system can only help .
