it's been bugging me since i got the fez!


Right!
Say I'm doing 50mph, what my speedo tells me is that I'm doing about 55mph!
Same with any other speed, just plus 5mph onto it.

Another thing, the damn speedo its self gets stuck on whatever number it wants.
I could be parked still, but the car says it's doing 50!

Pain in the ass for speed camera's and no one infront of me..



No idea if the gearbox has been changed in it..
A quick shift has been put in place of the original gear lever bit though.. but like i said, still don't know if the gearbox its self has been changed.

Revs drop nicely in gear changes...

3rd at 4k revs drops into about 3.2k when put into 4th

5th 70mph, just on 4k revs.
Over a tonne and it's way into 5 - 6k

Pretty sure my old 1.4 was around 3.5k at 70, never saw it over 5k though in 5th though.


Any idea why it's sticking?
and why it's 5mph out?

have the needles been taken off at any point ( to change the colour of the clocks etc..)
if not, try taking the cable from the back of the clocks and adding some grease to the end of it, if that doesnt work then the cable may have worn away, try replacing it with a new one as there only a couple of quid!!

mine revs that high at aswell. when im doing 70 its revving at 4 grand and im doing 100 its at about the 5 mark and 110 at 5500rpm. its normal i wont worry about just do the speedo cable.

yh they can just have a look at the needles to see if they touch the little stopper. if not then there not put back on properly,

sounds like there not on correct and may have been pushed back on too far!!

mmm. i pulled it apart not long ago now.

but all this warm weather is causing it to stick like nothing else!
even the rev counter is giving it a go. :l

Gunna have to pull them off and reposition them!
