alright guys. Got a few problems with my new si and would like to see if any body is able to shed some light on it.

Today i noticed that when it was sat idleing it seemed to be choking but not constantly, just here and there within around 5minutes of each other but only happens for a minute and then runs fine :S

When going along bumpy roads, road corners and sometimes even when going in a straight line around 50/60mph the hand brake light pops up, sometimes clear as day, sometimes just flickers then goes away. The brakes dont lock up but worries me a little bit just incase they do in the future.

After driving to and from work Iv also noticed that the idles get stuck around 1500rpm and then drop down a few seconds later after stopping.

There also seems to be a rumbling coming from somewhere, the faster I go, the faster the rumbling and the same for slowing down. Traveling at a steady speed its noticeable but obviously when traveling at higher revs I cant hear it because of the exhaust.

And last but not least, I think the sump is leaking from around the gasket. I seem to have a few bolts missing from the bottom of my sump but that is in the process of being sorted.

If anyone can shed some light on these issues I will be most grateful

the idle to me i'd say is down the ISCV, give it a clean out with brake/carb cleaner and re-fit

rumbling sounds like it could be a wheel bearing?i could be wrong tho

as for your brake light, is it the actual cluster at the rear of the car or the hand brake light on the clocks?, if its the cluster i'm going to go with a bad earth, but again i could be wrong on all those

Yeah the ISCV does sound like a good place to start. That would also explain the revs staying up after driving it.
I thought the rumbling may also be a wheel bearing, is there any way to do a quick check without taking everything apart.
As for the breaks, its both lol. The rear clusters come on when I put my clutch in for some reason, and when going on bumpy roads/round corners etc the handbrake light on the dash comes up :S
What earth would it be if it is one?

the handbrake light (if you mean the one on the dash) could be the brake fluid level as the pads get worn. worth a check as i have had this sort of thing on my Si and on the other halfs old KA

break fluid seems fine, the bf checked it all the other day so :S I can only get it up one click so would that indicate that its too tight and maybe getting tighter along the bumpy roads hence the light coming on?
