topped my oil up yesterday with some oil and noticed some mayo around the neck of the rocker cover, btw the engine is a 1.1 hcs, i instantly checked the dipstick and nothing and it hasnt lost any noticeable amount of water, im just wondering is there any other checks i could do to see if the headgasket is gone pop?

after a quick chat with sk8xtrem, he said it could be a bit of moisture as its freezing down here lately and when the car warms up it could cause a build up of moisture & doesnt help that sometimes im leaving for work at 04:30 anybody shed some light on this?

these engines are bit prone to this, if not using any water would think its just condensation buildup in the oil, do you mainly do short runs in it <10miles? if so this will increase it, not a great problem just keep an eye on it and possibly take rocker cover off and clean it up when next changing oil. Also think when you next change oil have a look at the options off oil as think some resist it more than others

i had this last year with the saph, i had mayo on my dip stick but no other signs anywhere else, i was told that it was due to moisture and the fact that i didn't use it hard enough  :red:

as a fellow overhead rattle knacker owner..yes its only condensation...its more prone to it if you only do short trips or dont give it the beans that often.

not too bad to clean out but it does smell a bit!

Jam.

Nothing to worry about there mate.

To be honest I wouldn't bother with an oil change until it warms up again now.

its only on 60k, but jason said because its got so cold down here the neck of the rocker cover gets freezing then warms up quickly with the engine so causes some condensation
