can u adjust the timing using the sprokets on the camshaft?

there are 2 white marks on them and on the cam cover, im guessing if i align these it will be TDC?

i have read the hayne manual and tell u how to do it with the cam cover off but tbh i dont really understand what they mean!

if you dont understand what the haynes means then do you really think you should be messing about with the engine timing yourself?
you can't really use the sprockets for timing on a zetec as they are keyless with the cams. only way fo doing it to be sure is rocker cover off, cam locking tool in back and check that the mark on crank pulley lines up with the notch on the sump

ordered the locking kit and i now understand what they mean in the haynes, now that ive seem the back of the cams
