Hi,
i have searched this and found lots of useful info about a spring.....
Couldn't find anything specifically relating to my case so here goes:

Recently (past 2 days) when locking my car it's fine, but when unlocking it the key turns fine but sometimes i don't hear the central locking unlock (therefore remaining locked). After turning the key back to locked and then again to unlocked it works, sometimes this can 2 or 3 times, suggesting something is about to break or has actually broken..

I've had a year long problem where if im driving my car through a dodgy estate i lock my doors, when i get out of the car it then locks itself? only happens on the inside. i rarely lock the doors while driving anyway so never thought to get it fixed, but thought this might be relevant to my exsisting problem...

any ideas?

cheers

right,
just realised that when i turn the key and don't hear the central locking (making me think its actually locked) it is acctually unlocking, but only the drivers side; therefore meaning the lock is fine and functional, its the central locking thats hit and miss.
It's 'phew' in one sense but 'd'oh' in another...
could it be something like a bad earth?
