Hi,

Guess the title kinda implies what I'm aiming.

I have an RS1800 loom and a 2.0 Zetec, am I right in thinking that I can basically use any Mk3 or Mk3.5 as a shell now and plumb in the 2.0 with the RS1800 loom, all be it with a couple of wiring changes at the ECU for a mondeo one?

Any pointers to guides for going from RS1800 to 2.0 would be appreciated, I've only seen Si or XR2i to 2.0 guides so far.

Cheers

Paul

Yes you are correct with the shell issue, you could plumb it all into a robin reliant lol.

Which RS1800 loom have you got??? MK3 with the external EDIS module in the bay, or the MK3.5 RS1800 loom with internal EDIS (which is exactly the same of the Si loom)

If its the MK3 RS1800 external EDIS loom then you will have to find an external EDIS 2.0ltr ECU, which I am sure there are plenty of. Or look at the xr2i guides for any wiring changes.

If its the MK3.5 RS1800 internal EDIS loom (the same as the SI loom) then slap it in along with a 2.0ltr DESK DEEP or DEWY ECU and away you go! (this is the easiest way)

Hi there,

Just got the loom through today. Guy that I bought it from isn't sure what year car it was from!?!??!

How can I tell from looking at it? I assume there is a Ford part number somewhere on it?

Will try and have a look at Microcat tonight, but if anyone knows for sure if you could let me know that'd be cool.

Cheers

Paul

MK3 loom will have a black box with some engine wiring loom attached which is the EDIS module, and most MK3 looms didnt have the black box with brown wires attached which is the PATS module.

MK3.5 loom didnt have the EDIS stuff, all the engine loom goes into a plug which goes to the ecu plug, but has the PATS stuff with brown wires.
