just purchased fiesta 1.6si
car would not start at all this morning, engine was turning but not firing. Kept trying for 10 mins then it kicked into life.
Car was then fine and started fine for the next 4 times engine was turned over. Then it happens again, had to wait about 5 mins for it to start.
The car was very rarely used previously, could it be old petrol as the car has been sitting there for ages. should i fill the tank and see if it makes any difference?

also whats the best way to start a cold engine fuel injection with the clutch depressed?

it could be the old fuel or you may have a small hole in a fuel pipe so the fuel goes back to the tank,
it could be lack of oil around the engine
or it could be electrical like your ignition switch being worn out,
immobilizer? what does the red light below the clock do when it dont start?

i havent actually looked at what the red light does but will have a look to see if the issues are the same tomorrow and get back to you.
will also fill up with some fuel. see how it goes, hopefully no more problems!

problem seems to be over today, been out a few times and car is starting fine. Maybe it was the old fuel in the system because the car had been sitting around for so long previously.
all is well thankfully!!
