Why cant a black top 2 litre engine be fitted to fezzys? also how do you fit the black rocker cover. Thanks

they can be but the looms different. and the rocker cover are a straight swap i think? ive seen a few black top covers on silvertops.

if you did want to fit the black top 2.0l you ul need the new engine loom for the connections as there different, but saying that iv herd of a friend that he used all the old silver top sensors on the black top engine so he didnt need the loom

Are the mounts different?because if not i cant see it being hard just to cut and join a few wires,is the conversion the same as a silver top bar the loom differences?

Mounts are very different. The only reason im putting a blacktop in mine as i got one cheap with low miles and its in good condition.

Different water pump, belt arrangement, PAS pump, etc etc minor difference's in head, said to flow slightly better, and has solid tappets.

Sump is totally different and fouls driveshafts, silvertop sump will fit on though. ive placed my silvertop sump onto blacktop block and cant see it causing any probs

silvertop manifolds will fit on no probs, then you could use all old sensors.

not to sure on crank sensor yet, will have to use silvertop/cvh fiesta flywheel, (cvh flywheel needs holes drilled out slightly, but is lighter) however not sure if crank sensor is spaced differenty>?

thanks for the info cookie The ancillary differences shouldn't cause a problem because you could swap the alternator and pas pump over,am i right?. regarding the mounts,how different are they? and cant you just pop fiesta ones on like the silvertop conversion?

Afraid not, the brackets for alternator/PAS wont fit directly on the blacktop block.

Mounts are v different as the blacktop only has one mount in the centre, which goes through the timing area. So not as straight forward as silvertop.
