Hi was just wondering if there is a certain way to fit the 1.6 flywheel to the 2 litre ie what position its in

Only reason i ask is because i was reading the Haynes manual and it said to make a mark with paint before removing so you could re-fit it in the same position but the mondeo engine came with no flywheel fitted so im unsure of which position its suppose to be fitted

Will it make a difference if i just fit it in any position?

it will only let you fit it one way the bolts will only line up in its correct positon

Yes it will make a difference on what position you put it in because the flywheel has a bit on it what the CPS reads so it knows piston 1 is at TDC, easiest thing to do is get piston 1 at TDC on compression stroke and put the flywheel with the TDC mark on the flywheel at the 12 oclock position.

This applies to most cars, so im sure it will be the same for the mondy engine too.. anyone else confirm this? Or any different from what i said?

But sometimes, ive seen it where it will only go on in once place as the bolt holes are in a position where it lines up with the holes on the crank.. so basically you cant put it on wrong lol. Not sure though, you will have to have a look!
