okay, as some of you know, i have been longing for an rs1800 head for my fiesta si rs1800 conversion,
to cut a long stort as to why i need one

bought an rs1800 engine, changed water pump belt set etc..
fitted engine running super fantasitco.
waterpump bolt fell out ?? and snapped cam belt, sevear loss of performance no more grunt and fuel smell
at least 1 valve is bent lossing compression on cylinder 1&3
cant have my car off the road for to long so wanna get a head prep it then fit it = minimum car down time

okay,

so i bought a head of sisisisi it cost me £70 postage included (i was told it was mint it never arrived) paypal never got th money back i lost out there
(btw im a student on a tight budget so £70 hurts)
fortunatly i got a £100 bursary for being on a degree(yay £70 loss isnt to bad but i still miss that money),
so i went on ebay and bought an rs1800 cylinder head and guess the f*@k what this one hasnt arrived (i'm sure the guy is probably sisisis in disguise @hes got me again@ i'll hunt him down)
so now i'm £120 down, i only have about £40 left before i am so broke that i cant afford to drive to uni

so finally here's the question i hope happypaul can answer this

whats the different between the following heads

105 mondeo escort xr2i
115 escort gti mondeo
xr3i 130

basically i am p**sed off with buying head online so now i am going to get one for £40 from the beakers

what i am really concerened about is the valve and port size
are all 1.8 zetec valves and ports the same size
does the compression increase/decrease?
am i going to loose performance fitting say an 105 or 115 head on my rs1800 bottom end.?


why the f**k cant people send me my rs1800 cylinder head
i am assuming that the escort xr3i head is the same as the rs1800 one?


i have got a set of brand new rs1800 cams and springs to put in.


finally does anyone have a spare 1.8 head. i cant afford to buy another one

dont know about the differences though im afriad as ive never had to inspect em in regards to that. just hope paul can shed some light on it for ya!
just be aware buying from breakers that the heads may be warped, so take it off a car yourself and check it with a straight edge before parting with any more money

The 1.8 16v engines head is the same as the all the other 16v heads in the silvertop rangine as far as i know mate.I have a xr2i complete with full engine in my garage.

I'm technically not going to be using the engine bar for some parts so I guess I could whip it off and send it to you.Gonna cost a bit to post though.

As far as im aware all 1.8 heads are the same. Its the injectors/cams/TB/ECU thats different.

so does everyone agree that most 1.8 phase 1 or 2 zetec heads are almost identical and interchangeable with an rs1800 with no noticeable performance difference?

my neighbour is scrapping a Mondeo very soon. i might just knick the head off that and do the valves,springs and drop the rs 1800 cams in it.
