right then guys!

i lowered my car last nite, everything was fine apart from a little rubbing here and there.
i sorted the tracking in college 2day, but then when i turned, quite sharply, left out of a junction there was a bad clunk, then the car started to pull left like it did b4 i dun the tracking, and now everytime i turn the wheel a certain amount each way it clunks badly.

my lecturer in college said that it sounded like the spring wasnt sitting on the strut properly and was moving.

me nd my mate checked it and it did turn out 2 be the spring moving, but we found that the spring doesnt sit in the dish properly, and looks as if its bent at the bottom.

but we tried the standard spring back on it, and it was still doin it, so we dont think its anything 2 do with the springs.

the clunking noise sounded like it was cumin from the strut top, so we greased that up nd now it better but it still clunks now and agen.

but its weird how it only happpened after i dun the tracking this morning, as it was fine last nite. and that 1st clunk knocked the tracking back out of alignment

any1 got any ideas?? help would be greatly appreciated!

are the wishbones or ball joints in good condition without movement?

Track rod ends. Mine are clunking while turning..
Wishbones could be brand new, but they can still go tits up quickly...
Anti roll bar droplinks if you have them could also be the cause...
Whats the suspension strut rubber like?

ok. dun the tracking in college agen 2day then drove it and after a while seemed 2 have go out a bit agen and its pulling 2 the left still, but not as bad.

the rubber is bit ripped and worn

That could the the cause then

Pulling to the left would indecate nackered wishbone IMO. I also have a nackered wishbone and it keeps throwing me all over

the wishbones on fiestas r rubbish esp pattern ones, i managed to destroy a brand new pair in less than a day

i wouldnt waste my money on buying bottom arms again m8 in a few weeks they will go hte same get some powerflex ones the money u spend buying new arms u can spend on polybushes which last ages

dont get pattern part wishbones pay the xtra 30 odd pound on ford ones as ford ones last well and pattern ones last about a month at the most when lowerd lol iv spoken to people who have had ford wishbones fitted and a year later are perfect. i think there £55 each from ford or pay the £280 for polybushed ones that i think are meant to last for life!

The pattern arms on my RS1800 lasted me a year, and are still on the car, no signs of being nackered I would sooner pay £15 an arm than £55 from ford.. slap some polybushes in and mod for camber (which is what im doing for the pickup)
