I wouldnt worry, the 1.4's are not worth modifying in the slightest engine wise. A filter for some noise but that's it.

However if it takes you longer than say 13 seconds to get to 60, your engine is running very badly though im not sure on book figures with them.

At least you can sleep at night knowing that you can put the RST engine in, instead of the standard 2.0 job, hence you'll be able to easily get a nice 160bhp+ if you wanted.

you have something seriously wrong with your car then, as in 30 seconds, even a 1.4 si should be hitting over 100mph (i think)

first port of call is to check that it's breathing in and out properly, and make sure its been serviced.

Well heres a list of stuff I've done/checked so far.
New maf
new plugs/leads/air filter/fuel filter/ breather valve/lambda.
Cleaned and sprayed all electrical plugs/conections.
checked breather pipes from engine.
Colour of the plugs is good, nice tan colour.
Oil is fine, not white nastiness
reset ecu lots of times
Cleaned MAF sensor

Stuff to get done:
Sort out the cat
Check timing
check compression, anyone know the figures?
BTW Have read else where that some guy had same problems as me, lack of power and temp not rising to where it should be and it turned out to be the maf. Now I've changed mine, a 2nd hand one granted but how do I know that ones not knackered as well, anyone got a spare I could try?
Set fire to a still sick fiesta and laugh at getting my revenge! :chill: :chill: :chill:

The good news is I've smashed the cat out now and it flies! Well, for a 1.4 anyway. Just sounds like a tank now tho...........
