Can someone with knowledge on these things please help me out? I've wired it up using a 40A SPNO relay (following the guide on fiestaguides) and according to my alarm manual it creates a 1 second negative pulse to pop the boot, but, it does nothing The button in the car still works fine though.

Gone through the software too and it's definitely set to do that using the blue/black (#6) wire:

If the alarm is putting out a negative pulse what it's doing is in fact earthing or grounding the circuit, the same way the door pins work, so if the boot pop switch on the Fiesta is just completing a live circuit then adding a 1 second pulse of earth is going to do bugger all. Have you programmed the alarm to actuate the pulse? A lot of alarms have these features set to off as standard hth

I thought the negative pulse though would be completing the circuit from the lives. The relay has no earths otherwise?

According to the guide on FG too, it's for alarms with a "negative output"

Having same problems with the Saab, solution that I'm trying will be;
disconnect the live feed wire to the switch, make that wire an earth point, connect a constant live to the release motor, also at the motor end take the wire that's fed from the switch and put it on the earth side, and also connect the alarm wire to this as well, in theory this should give us a circuit which is complete bar the earth, pop the switch or alarm and the earth is complete, I think

i went the easy way and had it fitted if u get really stuck i'd ring a toad dealer up
