Are fiesta and escort alternators the same?

Reason I ask is because scrappers has lots of escort diesels in but scrapped the mk3 fiesta diesel i was stripping down, and i need an alternator

anyone know?

i've fitted a fiesta si alternator from a zetec to a cvh escort, just bolted in place the tensioner pulley took the slack from the belt
