 Post subject: escort MAF problem

is my sensor duff the car has started to run lumpy the revs are up and down a bit also the revs will go up when i unplug the maf aint the car suppose to cut out also the car revs to bout 3000 on its only when moving when i stop the revs will come down

do the usual.. clean MAF, ISCV, make sure everythings plugged in

clean the idle valve sorted the over revving but then engine still likes to run a little lumpy and idles up and down on tickover cleaniung the maf made it a little better but not much so i unplugged it again and the revs went up a little and plugged it back in then came back down any ideas

sounds to be the MAF my escort was suffering with simular problems, mines still unplugged and running fine 2 months down the line as a new one was £100 odd down the factors :rolleyes:


might try cleaning it now that thats been mentioned



edit.....


cleaned it and the car goes like a rocket now ;)
