right ive seen the post about the air pulse system and i bought the parts and i set about fitting it today, ive got 3 of the blanking plugs in but the last one nearest the dipstick has been a right basterd and wouldnt come off, its now rounded really badly so does anybody have any great ideas about getting the sodding thing off? i cant leave it cause it will leak exhaust fumes! HELP

ok my two proven techniques are the following:


firstly (but not always the first technique to use):

Hammer, chissel, bash the nut / bolt in the direction to undo it (anti clock if thats the case), keep tapping on an angle and hope it turns slightly each time, dont bash fook outa it as you wont have anything left.

secondly, if you have any flats left, simply file/grind the the flats down a bit so you now have a different sized head and then just take it off with a socket which is 1mm smaller than previous.

lastly (not proven in all cases),
drill the most of it out with a drill bit about the same size as the thread, re-tap it and your done jobs a guddun, or a drill bit slightly larger than original, tap the new hole and get a slightly bigger bolt to fit.

I dont know what your on about but they are my techniques for nuts and bolts.

thanks for that will give it a go tomoz, ive just had a thought though!, if i drill a hole form the top of the nut through to the bottom then put a screwdriver in the hole ive drilled and then i should be able to twist the screwdriver and hopefully it will come off!

cutting the nut off is not an option really because its holding a piece of metal that will fall into the manifold!

tis fooked! ive tried everything now and the nut is so rounded its unbelievable! might have to take the manifold off, and i cant b arsed!
