WHAT A FCUKING P155 TAKE!!!! Just applied for a job and among the items required are; CV - fair enough refrences - no problem with that, then they have a a page full of documents they need to see for me to prove that I am allowed to work in my own motherfcuking country of birth!  These include full birth certificate, proof of eligiblity to work in the uk, photo ID and proof of ancestry back 4 generations (last one maybe made up) Rant over, just don't mention it if you see me.

so you got a job yet?  a friend of mine was in a similar situation. he tried to sign up for an agency, but was told without proof of nationallity, ie, passport, then he couldnt sign to them. he doesnt have a passport. and they wouldnt accept photocard driving license JJ |

A couple of Months ago I got a letter from work saying they needed to see my Passport to see if i'm legal to work in this country, etc. I've been working there for just over a year now!! Whoops, good old HR!!

I can see the points made here, but I kind of cant help but reason with it as thats who I am. I have to say i quite like this idea. As without it, imagine the ilegal immigrants etc, they would all get jobs just like that by blagging it, at least this way there is a slight chance they will get sent home?? Dont shoot the messenger huh? <fire away> |

just ask them if you can do a "crb" check, that sorts all that out.
