You know how most of these people get down? They jump. Not even joking! They carry a parachute on their back and jump off the top to get back down lol |

I used to do that for a living, never went that high but been up a fair few tall towers! You get a cracking view from up there and it's well worth the effort. I remember being up a tower once having lunch and looking down on two Tornado's flying through a valley, shame I didnt have my camera handy enough would have made a great photo ![]() Paul |

I remember when I was working at the G8 Summit when it was at Gleneagles we had a portable mast which had various antennae all the way up it and the transceiver was right at the top and stopped working. We couldnt bring it down without pruning everything off as it was a three piece mast so I went for a climb and about 10 foot from the top the lattice got to the point where I couldnt actually fit my feet in the gaps so the higher I got the less I had holding me up until the point I was holding myself up with my tip toes. That was not one of my more pleasurable memories as it was far enough to fall to really fooking hurt!! But not far enough to kill me... Hmm... i've just re-read that and I do worry about myself sometimes.... M'eh!! Also, as it was really thin it wobbled like a Mo-Fo!! Ah, those were the days ![]() Paul |

Bomb diffusal for me. Reasons: You have plenty of protection which usually saves your life (see that one earlier this year when it went off in his face, and got up after he come round?). If you DO die from the explosion, it'll probably be more instant - you fall off that tower, you'll have time to phone home and say your goodbyes ![]() Assuming you fixed the problem with the mast before you fell of course! |

christ. im terrified of heights, which is why i took up climbing and have been for around 5 years! ive been in situations like that (not free climbing, attached) where ive stopped still because i was panicking. the thought of falling must be horrible and they make it look like a breeze ha! however, i bet the pay is bob on... or is it not Paul? |
