Post subject: | Hi, new owner |
I'm Gareth and have been a Mrk3 fan since I first passed my test back in 01 My first car was a 93 1.3LX in diamond white, fitted full xr kit, rs recaros, dropped on a set of white dymag 5 spokes. Next Mrk3 was a Moondust XR2i turbo, full rep Then came the XR2i track car, supposedly a 2.0 zetec. Started to collect parts, inc a area 6 2.1zvh only to roll the car before i fitted it. In my 11yrs of driving i've been through 19 cars and a super bike but can't get away from these pesky mrk3's. Current toy/track car, will be getting featured soon then sold on for a FRST or left in the garage till i find some enthusiasm for it. ![]() ![]() Which leads me to my recent purchase, today in fact. Bought this off the bay for next to nothing and plan to replace my mrk5 fiesta as a daily. 94 Fiesta si 2.0 zetec, S2 RST box etc. Needs a few things tidying up bodywork wise (painter by trade) but it's not a standard fiesta colour, any ideas? Pics coming soon |

No pics of my first car, were camera phones around in 2001? Only pics of my FRST rep, it was a love hate relationship. I loved it, it hated me. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Track car in the making. Was a really stupid thing, took a friend out (back lanes near my house) for a blast, no belts as was in the process of fitting buckets and harnesses. Did one complete roll and came to rest on its roof. Really shook me up, not the crash but i could of killed my friend through stupidity. We live and learn. ![]() ![]() ![]() Plans for the si Look at refitting power steering XR bumpers Paint n/s/r 1/4 and roof - if i can find a match? RS1800 steering wheel Top end gasket set Sounds as though there's an exhaust gasket leak, noticeable under acceleration. Shell appears to look really good underneath but i'm going to get it up on a ramp and have a poke around. If all is well i'll look into a st170 lump, its been a while since i've had n/a. Overall i'm pretty pleased, just a bit pants high up in the revs, not alot of pull but its got some torque low down and after all it was bought to get me to and from work. |

Thats standard zetecs for you, low down torque but only power to about 5500rpm. You certainly did a top job of that, your both lucky to be here with no seatbelts. Plans sound good, although i prefer the look with si bumpers lol, st170 lump will be a win. Will you be keeping the vvt? Thats if its possible, as iv read when it comes to maps its hard to get it to kick in like it does standard, but you can get it to kick in at a certain rpm, im not really clued up on it lol. |
