just saying hi to everyone

and

need some info

just over a year ago i sold my xr2i reg h569oar
i send the v5 off to the dvla but i have just recived a court letter for not transfering the car over to the new keeper and he as been caurt speeding about 10 times all in my name by road side cam so now i am in court for the v5 on the 4 of feb and the speeding at the end of feb the car was sold on ebay before xmas 2009 to a lad in nottingham a trader he clamed and i saw it back on ebay about feb 2010.

so any help i would be very thankful as i am looking a a £1000 fine for the v5 and
loss of my licence and 6months in side for the speeding i havnt done
not to say the loss of my job and my famliy

please help

omg. That is terrible, I'm afraid I can be of no help but that's truly awful all so someone can drive a bit quicker?
I really hope you can sort it for all your family's sake. You definayely need to seek legal advice and seek a good solicitor!

ummm. sticky one this. you are technically responsible for that vehicle. if you transferred it to a trader. you still should have sent the main logbook off. and given the red slip to them. if they took the whole logbook, your pretty buggered im afraid. do you have a recipt signed by the new owner to prove it was bought off you at that time or any reference to thier trading alias? thats about it for the logbook. The speeding ticket suggestion is to find out what time the offences were commited. if you have proof. as in concrete evidence/alibi that you where no where near there. i.e clocked in at work or on a camera somewhere, you may have them at work, failing that attendance records are or should be kept to prove or disprove you whereabouts on those dates i.e holidays sickness etc. thats about as much help as i can be. but pretty much whatever way you look at it they'll try thier best to fuck you over. even if you disprove the speeding offences your still left with the logbook issue.

Hi And Thanks For the support i spoke to my legal egael and he has said i am screwed unless ebay come up with contact details but douth that so sod it thay can come and find me because dvla still think i live at my mums because all my mail gos there when i really live 60mile away because i aint going down because some drugy little sh*t from nottingham

you should see if you can get an alibi to prove it wasnt you for the speedin
then hopefully it'l help with the v5
but you may end up havin to take it all on the chin and learn from it mate
keep us updated with what goes off

if you get 6 months prison you will only do 3 months plus come out with a clean slate they will not make u get a job if only in for a little while prison is not as bad as they say as few of my mates dont pay fines they go prison to clear it for a couple of months i no it is not the answer but better than getting a huge fine that could take years to pay off

Yeah but still.. one minuite your a normal living working man, doing absolutely nothing wrong. The next you have to be away from your family for 3-6 months for something you didn't do? Just so some crack head could speed around? Not really fair imo. :lol:

absolutly agree chris but why do dvla let it build up like that surely they should of contacted him well before it got to this stage

and yes it not easy for some1 or any1 to go prison but as long as u just keep your head down and just do your time u should be fine u will not be going to a high security prison probaly be a open prison as u will not be staying long and u are not high risk

and surely if u sent the v5 off its not your fault they did not receive or did not change the owner of vehicle plus as it has been so long surely they would of sent tax reminders to you and not the new owner as i got reminders for cars that i had sold ages ago and i just rung them to say vehicle not mine no more and the cancelled it for me
