Well, I have reached the milestone of 10,000 posts.
And this is without whoring the forum like certain other members *coughTerrycough*
So, I thought why not entertain with a mini story about the creation of FSi, rather than just the usual "Wooo, I've reached XXXXXX posts!" kind of thread...
So, pull up a pew, turn out the lights, and allow me to begin...
A long, long time ago, in the deepest, darkest depths of the Midlands, 3 young boys were talking on the internet, via the witchcraft that is MSN, about how there was no specific place on the internet for owners of the hallowed Fiesta Si to congregate. They had nowhere to share war stories, conquests, and battle scars that was specific to their own horse and cart transport. There were other such taverns, which provided a perfectly adequate abode, but you had to filter through other people's tales of woe and success whilst trying to find information specific to your mode of transport...
So these 3 young boys took it upon themselves to create their own little niche market stall, and invite anyone and everyone to make themselves at home.
The journey was frought with danger however, and at times, it looked as though the evil spirits would conquer over the completion of the site. There was no time limit, but this made things even harder, as laziness often possessed us to put a halt to proceedings. Then there were people's jobs and social lives which would slow down the progress.
The looks of the site changed numerous times, before it evolved into the moster you see before you. And even then, Darwin's theory of evolution never demised in the case of FSi. However, a day arrived when we all agreed with each other that we were near enough as would be damned to the pearly gates of the internet. So, a specific day was set, a Saturday, and we headed towards the open and cruel world that is the world wide web...
Again, demons were crawling over our backs and in our heads, as we encountered numerous failings with those gods we had chosen to host our creation. We shifted and changed from one host to the next, trying to find a happy medium of performance and reliability, but alas, it took us many attempts to get it right. We also had to conquer the beasts that disagreed with such a niche place being created, as they seemingly had no brains nor power of reason or understanding.
We fought on galiantly, we defied those who believed we would fail, and most of all, we found our niche, in the form of the members who frequent our tavern regularly, be it those who just drop by, or those who seemingly live here. We succeeded. And now, you people are what make this place what it is. So behold, FSi is STILL here, and will STAY here, whether you do or not.
And on that note, I complete my 10,000th post, with a smile on my face, and a wonder of what demons will try to take us down in the future...
