ok so here is the story... I was driving to work today, listening to my music, enjoying a nice drive along a loooong windy road. rounded the corner, and saw it was a 3 mile straight. luckily, due to not having a lot of fuel, i decided to enjoy the ride, rather than rag it. 60mph limit, i was doing 50. as i was going along, the only car i could see coming the other way was a brand spanker merc, and a bike behind it. just as i get within about 2-300 metres away, the bike pulled out for a overtake, the stupid fooker forgetting to check if there was anyone coming the other way (me.). i straight away hit my brakes, but to be honest at the speed he was doing it was pointless, so i tried easing my car onto the grass verge at the side: course, when i did, my left wheels completely lost grip and started me spinning. i tried to correct it, but couldnt, and completely lost it, so that i could avoid the bike. he locked up his front wheel and came off, and belly slid straight past me, the bike following him. by this point i was already spinning around, with nothing i could do, so i just put the clutch in(no idea why) and closed my eyes. luckily, biker man was ok, and i didnt hit anything, but when the police came they said i did well to keep the car on the road, and not hit the oncoming cars or ditch it. took my details, etc, and got checked over by the ambulance people. no damage to my car whatsoever, but his bike is fooked, and he admitted liability. went to work but got sent home, as one minute im laughing, and the next im crying, think im still in shock. not a fun day so far. please dont write ''you should know how to control a skid etc'' as im sure a lot of you would of done the same, as i had no time to react really, and think i did quite well to avoid all the other cars. |

Good thing you wern't going quick: My dads mate had to sell his motorbike after he witnessed a ZX-9 hit a transit side on at 120mph You can imagine what happened....... it scared him pretty much |

still not 100% now, really has shaken me up. not sure if i spun 4 or 5 times, but was one of those. looking back, it was quite exciting really

u did well fella to avoid any other vehicles specially the biker the lucky sod remember wen i spun my first fiesta,doin 30-40mph damp weather and a corsa infront of me decided to slam on the brakes on a corner cos he nearly missed his turn of.spun twice and hit a metal bin

Well done mate for not hitting anything I would have done the exact same in that situation. All these adverts for car drivers watching out for bikers... alot of the time its their own damn fault for riding like pricks everywhere* *by saying that I dont mean all bikers before anyone b*tches. |

Well in mate, you did really well not to hit the biker or the bike, or any oncoming cars. I bet it was a pretty scary experience for you, but at least you've experienced what its like to be in that situation now. Glad to hear your not injured too

Well done on not hitting anything or doing any damage to your motor! Calm yourself down, have a smoke  and put it down to experience. You always become a better driver after the near misses

i know how it feels mate. kinda how i crashed my fezza. hit ice and spun into a pole after some guy came round the corner on my side of the road forcing me onto the icy part of the road. only doing 25mph but managed to spin! took alot of drink to stop me shaking! well done for doing so well .

Lucky no one was hurt! You done well, you will find that you will never go onto the grass again now lol, next time if it ever happens again, i bet you will just hit the brakes. Ive been there before, scary stuff! I hit a tree though - only a little one newly planted, and it ripped out of the floor, so i was lucky. But either way, well done
