I get 300-320 miles out if a tank combined driving. £70 to fill her up from red (on the special stuff) this was with some triple mph figure driving (empty field on a mates massive house/acreage) too so pleased with that.

mole I'm in 6th gear cruising at 30mph too. if I want to pick up quick though down to third (3k rpm at 30) and I'll shoot off quick enough :lol:

I'm actually finding it cheaper in petrol then my old fiesta. even running the more expensive stuff. about 40-60 pound a month I'm saving.

:lol: I used to cruise at 30 in 5th, I still try it, but I need to be doing 35ish as it just jumps around now.

It is literally an extra tenner to fill up the car from 2 years ago, rather ridiculous but not a lot we can do about it I spose.

My car is using so much I couldn't care at the mo :lol:

ford offered me a 1.6 zetec s diesel brand new yesterday. sounds good for the economy hoever i would be in 5 grand negative equity and be paying £338 pound a month! lolz.

To be fair, i will have to quit and find a job nearer to home soon if it carrys on. They are taking the piss now.

ive just changed jobs as well, bastards wont give me my old shift pattern of 3 days per week so im commuting 5 times. bus takes 1.5 hours, we have no trains and ive nobody to lift share with. ffs! when i bought the st petrol was 1.01 a litre. that wasnt even 2 years ago.

I suppose the gearing depends very much on your gear box, but as a general rule just drive nicely and keep the revs down and it does make a difference.

With that I didn't buy my car to drive like a grandard all the time.

As you all know I don't do many miles so the difference is minimal to me.

Mine appears quite accurate but I have never tested all the way to empty and never pay attention when filling it or know how much should go in there.

I feel I should know more.
