Something tells me it's not just raw acceleration, but he has something which makes the turbo spool up and then he floors it... some sort of launch control/anti-lag system perhaps? Because just before he guns it, you can hear the turbo spool then dump a bit without moving forward in the shot and then he takes off.

Think its just power that. Drops down a gear by the sound and looks of it. Thats what the flutter from the dv was.
