ok so here is the story...
I was driving to work today, listening to my music, enjoying a nice drive along a loooong windy road. rounded the corner, and saw it was a 3 mile straight. luckily, due to not having a lot of fuel, i decided to enjoy the ride, rather than rag it. 60mph limit, i was doing 50. as i was going along, the only car i could see coming the other way was a brand spanker merc, and a bike behind it. just as i get within about 2-300 metres away, the bike pulled out for a overtake, the stupid fooker forgetting to check if there was anyone coming the other way (me.). i straight away hit my brakes, but to be honest at the speed he was doing it was pointless, so i tried easing my car onto the grass verge at the side: course, when i did, my left wheels completely lost grip and started me spinning. i tried to correct it, but couldnt, and completely lost it, so that i could avoid the bike. he locked up his front wheel and came off, and belly slid straight past me, the bike following him. by this point i was already spinning around, with nothing i could do, so i just put the clutch in(no idea why) and closed my eyes.
luckily, biker man was ok, and i didnt hit anything, but when the police came they said i did well to keep the car on the road, and not hit the oncoming cars or ditch it. took my details, etc, and got checked over by the ambulance people. no damage to my car whatsoever, but his bike is fooked, and he admitted liability. went to work but got sent home, as one minute im laughing, and the next im crying, think im still in shock. not a fun day so far. please dont write ''you should know how to control a skid etc'' as im sure a lot of you would of done the same, as i had no time to react really, and think i did quite well to avoid all the other cars.
