Just thought i would introduce myself, ive been reading the forum for a while now, but as im picking up an Si i thought i would sign up


quick run down on the car.


Its being sold by a dealer that basically had the car sitting there for about a year, it went into them for a service and mot and had £1400's worth of work done, including a recon engine, passed the mot after that no probs, but the owner decided to take one of their new cars on a lease and left the Si there. So yesterday it went up for sale. As the mot has now run out ive paid a recovery firm to collect it for me, im buying the car blind, stupid i know since the last mot its done less than a mile!! (moving round the yard).

Its an 95 M reg, in black (ash black i beleive), 3 door, never been welded, its done 110k but with the recon engine thats not a prob....

the only prob left to be fixed is a brake problem, they thought it was the brake servo at fault but they have ruled this out and now think its the vaccuum pipe that runs between the servo and inlet (apparantly a common prob on fiestas.???? anyone know anything about this??)

fingers crossed its nothing too bad then. cant be much worse than my rst ive got for problems anyway :lol:

thats a result then :D

with any luck ill be able to sort the brake issue as soon as its dropped to me tomorrow, then run it in for an mot, then if its as good as they say and passes straight away ill tax it and be straight on the road :D


just got an insurance quote from chris knott, baring in mind ive got an rst insured else where the price is really good, £339 per year - only £24 per month - cant complain at that :D

had the car dropped off to me earlier today, its actually aubergine not ash black :D

was absolutely covered in bird sh*t so i gave it a shrub and a t cut, really needs a mop though so that will be done in the next couple of weeks

only things wrong body wise really were a couple of small patches on the under side of the side panels need plating, it isnt really that bad but i want to get it done to be safe and doesnt get worse.

i got the new servo to inlet pipe (cheeky b*stard at the breakers charged me a tenner!!), but the brakes still feel quite hard and doesnt brake as it should, so ill sort that tomorrow, other than that the brake pedal hangs a few mm too low so the brake lights are constantly on, not a big deal though

all in all very happy for the money i paid :)
