Post subject:  Quick guide to changing lower rad hose. (images included)

I know this job is a no brainer but for those who might find working on cars challenging this is aimed at you.

Tools:
- Flat bladed screw driver.
- Grips / Pliars
- Long extensions in whichever drive you choose.
- 6mm socket, 7mm socket, 8mm socket

Time:
Around half hour for complete operation.

Top tips:
- WD40 / lubricant on the new pipe - easier to slip onto the block.
- dont drop your 7mm socket down the drain :frown:
- working on a cooler engine will always be less painful

Step 1.
Order new lower rad hose for 23.49 from your nearest ford parts department.

Step 2.
Park over a drain / suitable container for holding around 4 litres(?) of coolant / water.

Step 3.
Undo this clip until it is loose enough to pull the pipe away from the rad., you may need to slip a flat bladed screw driver in to prise it off.

Step 4.
Be careful with antifreeze/coolant on paintwork, it may take the shine out of the car (not that i care).

Step 5.

Step 6.
Probably the worst part of the job this clip.
Depends how the clip is position but you should be good to go between the back side of the engine mount and a small pipe.

Step7 *edit/new*
Undo the 8mm jubilee clip which is on another pipe runnin off to the left, its like a T piece.

Step 8.
Pull pull pull on the pipe until it comes off. Remember which way you take it out (i.e under over under over or whatever).

Reverse your order to put it back on, but spray wd40 / penetrating oil over the ends of the new rubber to help it slide in/on more easily.

Fill up coolant level with 50/50 coolant&antifreeze:water.

Let it drain through, run engine up to normal operating temperature.

Top up as necessary.

Rag car around the block a couple of times and check level again.
Hope this helps a lil bit.
