This is a guide how to take out the the cv joint out off a mk3.5 hub
tools you need:
axle stands
jack
spanners
ratchet set
cv joint
circlip pliers
step one:
slacken off the wheel nuts
chock the back wheel so your car does not roll away
jack the car up lace the trolley jack under the rear of the gearbox cradle and proceed to jack up the front of the car,
you may notice that the car will drift slightly, this is normal so don't worry too much,
but as always keep your hands and feet well clear just in case.
With the front in the air you will need to support the weight of the car with the axle stands for safety.
Place these under the chassis legs just after the lower arm mounts.
Slowly lower the car down onto the stands, make sure they are secure and the car wont fall.
If that's fine, just make sure you pump the jack up so its just touching the gearbox cradle,
this is for added safety, if one of the axle stands gets knocked then the weight of the car would still be supported.
Step two:
undo the clips that hold the cv boot in place
you can eather cut the boot or slide it back so you can see the cv
clean all the old grease off as you can see the hub and undo the nut slightly
now undo the bakes and take off the discs there is a guide if you don't know how to do it

now you can see the cv joint look where the splines off the shaft go in to the cv joint and you can see a cerclib you take this out by using the circlip pliers and wiggle it up the drive shaft so its out off the groove

step three:
not you have the circlip off you can go a head with the removal off the hub see guide
step four : wiggle the hub out off the splines off the drive shaft
step five :
now you have the hub off
take the cv nut off fully
jentaly tap the stud so the cv joint it out off the hub
no you can put that to one side
now you can put the grease on the new cv joint but only put a bit on and put the rest to one side
and put the cv boot back on the drive shaft
what I did was match the splines up to the ones on the cv joint and slide it on now push the cerclip back in to the groove
now you can put the cv joint back in to the hub and put the suspension back in to the top off the hub and tyten the hub back
now you can slide the cv boot back to the cv joint and put a bit off grease in the boot and slide it back and tighten the boot to the drive shaft and back to the hub
now put the track road end back in to the slot and tighten it up
no you can put the cv joint bolt on the stud and tighten it up
now put the wish bone back in to the hub and tighten that up
step six:
jack the car up and take it off the axle stand
now you can put the tyer back on
slowly let the car down
remove the jack from under the car
check that the wheel nut are tighten and stand back and look at the work you have done .
