hey guys, wondering if you could all post up any words of wisdom on the subject of buying a si? i will be starting the hunt within the next few weeks, and no idea how to go about it. im sure there are common probs to look out for, and hints and tips about buying them. i have no idea on prices, what to look out for etc. also anyone live near bracknell, that would be willing (fuel costs paid) to come with me, as you know the car that i will be looking at? |

Was there not a buyers guide in a recent Fast Ford along with the first rolling road figures etc??? Someone may be able to confirm that, and also what issue? |

fast ford august 2007 mate was the buying guide, nikki's car was in there. and the rolling road day was in the summer 07 issue. good luck in buying 1 mate, make sure u have a look at a a few and don't rush into buying any straight away and also check insurance coz i take it your around my age (17) so insurance will be steep, especially on a 1.6 Si lol |

only 200 more than the 1.4 mate... 1.6k for 1.4, 1.8k for 1.6. and yh im 17. problem is i have no transport to view the si's and i dont think people would be willing to drive to me to sell it lol |

 even a 1.2 punto would be costing 1500... i may aswell get the car i want ! the cheapest quote i have had is the 90hp corsa b, the sri version, at 1300. but chavness

i no how u feel mine last yea was 1800 for a 1300cc and it still didnt go over a 100mph lol toped out at 90 95 down hill hehe trust this is a good buyers guide dont bye a 1.3 mk3 fiesta

my 1.3 was surprisingly spritely. my mates 1.5 civic was timed 0-60 of 12.2 and kept with him! also had above the quoted 96mph on a private stretch of road no-one could explain why it was so quick for what it was, it had a K+N panel filter and a Yamaha R1 "non road use" rear can maybe it was a one off

20 secs? you had something wrong with it mate. even my mates 0.8 cincequento thing does it quicker than that (i think). |

Look around the arches of the car, front ones arent too bad cause you can replace the wings if you have to Floorpan rotts on them, so dont be scared to give it a wack with something under to check it Sills rott because of the sunroof drain pipes go into the sills, stupid design Check for any signs of new panels on the front end as it might have been in a bump, things might not be perfetly straight. Loads of other things to look out for.. mainly rust. |
