Alright then folks it's that time again. This month it will be held on Saturday the 19th August.

Start time: 7.30pm

There will be a convoy leaving Leicester Forest East Services at 7.00pm(ish).

We would also like to welcome our special guest Alex Capri who will be taking donations for East Anglia Air Ambulance Service. You can find more information about this and of course why Alex needs your support

I know a few of you already have confirmed, so lets make this one a good turnout for Sixfields and Alex!

Hi all,

Just thought I'd add my own two pence here.

This is a very special Sixfields, as I'm going to be bringing Thunderbird 18 for her final showing to the world before she sets off on her mission - a 1500-mile trip across Europe, which will take 4 days, and go from Calais to Annecy, to Bormio, to Salzburg, to Prague. It's part of the CzechWrecks banger rally, in which 50 teams, each with a car costing under £100, try and nurse their bangers across the continent in order to raise money for their nominated charity.

Thunderbird 18, our car, is a 1989 Granada 2.0i GL, which now looks like this:

She will be there, resplendant in all her glory, for all to see (and take the chronic piss out of!) :lol:

But there is a serious side to all of this. As I've mentioned, we're being sponsored to take part in the rally, with all proceeds raised going to the East Anglian Air Ambulance. This charity has been chosen partly to honour the memory of Rob Martin, our friend who died so tragically back in 2002, and partly because we think it's such an incredibly worthy cause. Its role is vital and instrumental in the emergency treatment of the victims of accidents and sudden illness. At the end of the day, your money will save lives. So please, come along to this meet, and bring as much as you can spare, no matter how little that may be, to dump in our big red buckets.

Alot of people won't know who Rob was on here. So, just to let you all know, Rob was a very valued, trusted and helpful member of fiestaturbo.com, who made many friends and was always willing to help people. As Alex said, he died tragically, which was a great shock to the whole FT community, and since then many have endeavoured to help those who helped Rob in his hour of need.

So please, take a moment to think, and get down to Sixfields. Not just to donate a bit of loose change, but to help those who need it. As one day it may be you who needs help.

Plus make the most of the summer months (I would say weather but it's gone a bit crap at the minute - sure it will pick up soon) and light nights :)
