No i agree with Jeremy Clarkson on this one, there's no point in making a queue 2 miles long in 1 line make use of all lines to the crunch point and have shorter queues where everyone gets a turn

No, the point is that the lanes are closed for a reason, usually workmen not actually doing any work, but if you leave all the lanes open and let people "filter" in, it will cause worse traffic. It's the people who go flying down the outside and push themselves in that cause the single file to be epically long. If everybody takes notice of the lanes being closed, and moves into the inside lane in a calm manner well before you even get to the closures, it will all flow and there will be no queue.

I see it all the time driving through Spaghetti, people who can't filter onto the motorway in a smooth manner are the ones that cause it to clog up. Likewise with where the M5 meets the M6 (my junction near enough), lack of being able to filter means massive queues.

So shut it Southerner! You are the cause of the jams but won't admit it because you should be in a white van
