Post subject: | By passing the PATS |
As some of you may know, I use my Mk3.5 1.6 Si for competition use. As a weight reduction programme and to have less things go wrong, I have been removing all the unwanted electrical cables/wires i.e speakers, central locking, window motors etc I also want to remove all the PATS related wiring, question is can this be done? Can I by-pass the PATS? All positive help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Mick |

yes the pats can be bypassed as its an external unit. I'm not going to post how to do it as this is a public forum, But with a copy of the wiring diagrams and few hours i think you could work it out. |

im sure it could somehow, my uncle re-built the loom on the focus he has and they use key fob immobilising thats more advanced than the Si PATS thought about taking the loom out and stripping it for what you need, IE bare essentials bin the stock ECU and go custom whilst your at it |

Right, I am having a bloody nightmare working with the PATS to get my competition car up to spec. Could I get round not having the PATS by using a loom from an XR2i? What ECU would I have to use? Cheers Mick |

No, the XR2i doesn't have PATS which is way I thought it might be an option. Why would it be hard to do? Mick |
