TBH fella it sounds like you have the wrong one, as im sure you can't get the zetec one in Red only chrome.
Right one (£101.91 from SB part # 036RG62)
Wrong one (ie 8v fiesta £55.94 from SB Part #MA1658)

Just wacked my strut-brace on today, all went well apart from when I start the car up, give it some revs and go for a drive, the brace vibrates like a biacth on the inlet manifold. Anyone else had this problem and how did they cure it??? I was wondering maybe just a bit of cloth wrapped rounf it, but there must be a better way! Cheers. |

Engine mounts may be fubared causing the engine to rock to much, Des had one, mouse now has that so maybe they will be able to tell you if they had that problem. Which one did you get, Ie with out trying to affend you, you did get the Zetec one, not the RST one. What make Omp? |

Yea OMP, think that is the right one! yea could be engine mounts I suppose, there is red paint rubbed of from the brace onto the manifold in about a 2 cm vertical line, so my manifold is moving 1CM either way I would of thought. |

Yup that is the one I have got. Ill take that back tomorrow, first they sent me a CVH one, then waited over a month for this one to come, only to get the wrong one, thanks a lot for your help on this fellas. |

It's definately the wrong one mate! 
I had the exct same thing. Bought it under reassurance it was the correct one. Fitted it, and it was indeed rubbing on the inlet manifold. Definately, definately DEFINATELY the wrong one. You have NOT fitted it wrong, so don't let them tell you that. You have NOT modified your car in a way that will affect it being fitted. And you are NOT in any way to blame. Here is how it *should* fit: 
As you can see there is a different angle on the brace as it comes from the left strut. This allows clearance from the inlet manifold. I bet the red one you have is more level with the other side, and it has the rings either side to go over the strut? I did have pictures of the OMP one connected to mine, but no idea where they've gone. And to be honest mate, I just sold the OMP one on. I couldn't be arsed to go back to the place that sold it me, but since that day I've steered people away from them. They're a joke. The ones I bought it off are based in Walsall, and are called Midlands Performance C*****. I won't say the full name But there's another dig. 
Let me know what they say when you bring it back to the people you bought it off... |

alright des, thanks for that info. They said exactly what you said, it is the right one, definately. I have fitted it wrong and they wont give me any money back as it has been fitted and I have done it wrong and now damaged it
I wasnt taking any of that crap so bought in some pics that have been provided on this thread, also the part numbers that mattybou supplied and print outs from strutbracer.co.uk. Also with a copy of sales of goods act. And they gave me my money back  However they did say they phoned omp who told them they had fitted the red strut brace onto a fiesta Si 16v and that it was fine. what a load of b*ll*cks. Now I am going about getting them to give me £80 so I can get the holes plug welded and painted over, which they said they will do if I put in a formal complaint in writing. SO hopefuly I will get some money sooonish to sort the holes out.

Glad you got your money back mate
I can only imagine that OMP fitted one to a dodgy Si with it's engine mounts in tatters, as there's no way that brace will fit without rubbing on the inlet manifold. When you write to them get them to try and fit another one to an Si. Bet they have the same thing happen. Nevermind - glad it's all sorted, and glad we could help
