| Post subject: | Mongoose Vs Magnex |
I'm thinking of getting a Cat back exhaust put on the car to replace 3" magnex box as it's blowing slightly where it was welded. Could i have pictures of both Magnex 4" and Mongoose 3.5" systems please. As well as descriptions of how they sound etc. I'm not after anything too loud but i would like it to open up once i plant my foot. I know performance increase will be negligable, so why should i spend and extra £100 for the magnex? |

Overall if I was to be buying a new exhaust I would go with the mongoose, Nothing against the magnex they a both very good systems. So if you say the mongoose is cheaper then go for it

dont magnex have a lifetiem garentee on all thier stuff?? why not get just the box replaced? ive got the 3.5" magnex on my si.. catback and it does sound lovely.. not heard a mongoose though... so cant really comment that way |

Doubt i could get the magnex box replaced, it was second hand supposedly from a 16V XR2i, but wasn't a direct fit onto my 1.6, so had to have my midsection modded and welded to make it fit. I'ts blowing ever so slightly where the weld is. Percy, could you give a detailed description of the sound of the Mongoose? How loud is it at idle, part throttle and full throttle etc. Same question for anyone with magnex. Cheers for the pics as well guys!

i had just the magnex backbox it wasn't that loud, until i had the midbox taken out but that started blowing, so i bought a new standard midsection and left it as that, which was what i had at the rr day it sounded very smooth with a deep sound

Here my car, it has a Mongoose 3.5inch, I have had the full system for about 2 years without problem, it makes a lovely sound at about 4000rpm. But can be quiet when driven carefully.

i say mongoose is better cus the magnex gets really loud at top end but the mongoose is very quiet it only gets loud if u pout ur foot down i love hte sound cus i can hear the engine more and the cams |
