hi people just wondering if u can take the hole maf sencer housing off and fit a universal cone filter to the small rubber pipe in front of it.will the engine run properly dont want it to run lean.

yes you can take it off if need be, but the ecu will run with one sensor less.

but, why dont you just buy a proper K&N or the car?

yes you can take it off but i wouldn't advise it the MAF (mass air flow) sensor is there for a reason. it measures the airfloe and your ecu will adjust the fueling accordingly

so basically without running the MAF your fueling will be shot

it will either run rich. not the end of the world but you'll be looking at stupid fuel consumption, having the constant smell of petrol in your car and when you start it up it'll prob flood cos as the choke is on it will be pouring way to much fuel into your engine


or it'll run lean, in which case you'll suffer from detonation and if you dont catch it in time you'll eat headgasket at best and be in for total engine rebuild at worse.

which even if you then go 2.0 works out at around ?500-?1000 for putting on an airfilter.

your call mate but your engine will get damaged if you dont run it
