Hi all Ive been offered a 1.7 puma engine and box with all the looms and ecus etc for 180 quid off a mate that put it all in a mk5 fiesta but now decided to brake the car. Would a puma engine go in a mk3 1.1 quartz ? what would be needed ? anyone done this etc ? All advice would be a great help as dont want to buy it all and find out it want work lol Josh |

No point, might as well go for the 2.0 swap as you'll get it just as cheap or cheaper and it'll be 100x easier |

Yeah but effort, and its not as if puma's are very new either. Theres different from the norm and there's pointless effort imo, slower, less torque. The only good thing about a puma is cheap and easy power in a mk5 and the pops. If I had a mk3 I wouldn't consider anything other than a 2.0 tbh for ease tbh. |

Puma in a mk3 sure is different, but not worth it at all. With the amount of work required for that, you might as well go blacktop for a slightly newer engine or duratec. Silvertop engines are reliable and strong though, plus fairly cheap, so they are ideal for a track car. |

Go with ST170 engine or fiesta St. I know the puma engine is cheap but if your gonna do something different cheap shouldnt be on your agenda. |
