how much work is involed in de-locking the boot and what sort ov price am i lookin at?

Mouse is man to speak to about this. You need to take the lock out and weld a plate behind it, then skim over the hole and rub it till the surface is smooth. It's not a major thing really. You'll prob need to spray the whole boot to get a decent match on the colour.

woop woop iiiiii yer take the lock out rub the paint of where ya weldin,
found it best to tak weld the plate in coz its less likely to distort the metal ur welding too,
then fill it with filler rub down and the boot coz u need the new paint to stick to the boot as scott said n yer its best to spray the whole lot ie all the outside ov the boot,

and dont forget to make sure u can get in the boot after u welded it i fitted a boot relise actuater from a xr2i or u can get one from a rs turbo or any mk3 fezzy with a boot relise coz thay fit straight in from the scrappys
