Hi all, completed my 2L conversion, it just seems to run very hot, hasn't been helped by some really hot days lol.
Basically to try and compensate I want to try and find or fit a twin fan conversion, has anyone done one or attempted one? Could I buy the Mondeo mk2 ST fans with surround and fit that etc? Is wiring plug the same etc?

Thanks!

It's running up near the red, in between the N on the NORM. Just want it running cooler that's all. How do I wire my fan up to run all the time lol?

What induction set up are you running? Have you heat wrapped anything?

I'm running K&N panel filter to silicone adapter to K&N banana pipe to TB. I've heat wrapped the banana pipe and some of the down pipe due to my heat shields falling off some time back. Didn't wanna wrap the manifold (it is standard) but I know it can push heat back towards the head.

It was the heat pushing back in I was wondering as iv read stories of peoples cars over heating due to heat wrap. Maybe try removing some and see how it runs? Maybe even try the standard crossover pipe if you still have it?

It shouldnt be running that high so if you can find a problem why its running hot then it will be better than altering the fan to cut in when you dont need it to.

I can now...when i wrapped my manifold...it's lots warmer then before.
The can't go out of the manifold, and stays in the head

i've heard it's a bad idea overall - part of mine is heatwrapped (exhaust manifold) but I'm not sure if it will stay

It's only wrapped from starter motor hight down.. I'm stuck for ideas why else it's running so hot. I might drill my air box out to help get cold air in. I've raised the Bonnet to help and it has but to a degree. I'm wondering if its just because its been really hot the last few days + could be a air lock in the coolent as it hasn't been done that long ago?

raising the bonnet wont help any air flow into the bay. remove fog lights and have to cold air feeds?

or add bonnet vents? they help cool an engine a hell of a lot

Okay thanks guys. Will crack on and try and fix it! I'm running a 2.0 coolent temp sensor in a 1.6 thermostat housing. Could that be anything to do with it?

no that should be fine. it'll literally be the hot weather and other factors. Just try some of the stuff mentioned and see if it makes a difference
