right then, i just found out a 1.8 16v xr2i loom wont work with a 2.0 deep ecu, coz the pins are different apparently. so i guess ill need a 1.6 si loom. but im not planning on having pas, will the 1.6 loom work without pas? |

Hold on hold on... Just re-read this... Get an unmolestered Si loom.. fit it.. job done. Doesnt affect anything not having any pas pump, as the load from the pas system tells the ecu to up the revs a little... without it plugged it.. it'll run fine. Another option would be to change the pinout... easier to fit an Si loom. |

thats whats confusing me, its its a internal edis xr2i 16v it will work fine but if the pins are different it sounds like its a external edis loom and even with the external edis ecu it wont work coz your car would still be missing the edis on the bulk head like paul said best way around this is just get a internal edis loom, eg Si 16v you know i have one waiting for you |

duh, come now danny how many times have i said lol, that ecu is external edis, it wont start your car, wont even crank! if the loom come with it then the loom wont work either as the edis is still attached to that car is come from on the bulk head, even if you had that it wont fit yours anyway get a post '94 loom |

How does this stand for me? I'm about to fit a 93 non pats, external edis rs1800 engine into my 96 pats fiesta 1.6 Si. I'm going to use the rs1800 ecu, and was planning getting rid of the si's pas for the RS non pas rack. What loom should I be using? |

engines are irrelevant, any zetec will use any zetec loom and ecu (ecu should be matched to the engine size or will run crap) only thing that needs to match is your ecu to your edis set up, since mk3's all have external pats (or no pats at all) you dont have to worry about the immobiliser being 93 is difficult, the ecu could be internal or external edis, simple way to know is look at the sticker ont he ecu plug, if it says 2fdc or similar (jumble of letters & numbers) then it wont work on any car from 94 onwards (some 93s) if it says CULT or similar a 4 letter word, it will work on an internal edis loom, your car being a 96 Si you need the cult ecu (2.0 mondeo deep desk dewy and the 1.8 mondeo blob will also run it fine) ![]() |

oh yea your perfect loom would be an RS1800 from 94 onwards or a 94 XR2i 16v (both 1.8) Chances are both come without pas |

It's pats not pas btw. Why not just fit an si or 3.5 rs1800 loom instead of pissing around? I also noticed a cult ecu being talked about.. good luck finding one if you need one. |
