definite itb's and cams to reach that power and a remap aim for 160bhp and you will be happy |

good luck getting it to that power without boost, thats all i can say lol. better off starting with a 2 litre engine rather than a 1.8 |

Post subject: | Re: mods? |
turbo would be easiest way to get 200+ out of the 1.8 |

Post subject: | Re: mods? |
well tbo with you lads it was just a figure in my head and i already have a turbo car and im sure i can pull out a decent bhp with out converting to turbo or 2litre it wouldn't be a good example of a rs1800 if it was turbo'd or a 2litre if you see what im going for |

Whack some high lift cams in it, get some ITB's, Omex management and a remap, see what the figure comes up with. Either way it'll sound epic and will be faster! |

i would look at what costs of mods you are thinking at against expected power, NA 1800 or even a 2litre 170+bhp doesnt come cheap, ITB's, 285 cams, ported head, programable ECU etc |

Whats the actual plan for this build? Its a bit confusing as to what you really want to get out of this car. IF you want a big power car and moneys not an issue then Turbo is the way forward IF It's perfect example of an RS1800 then 130hp's what you should be after but spend the time and money making it mint |

I want power but the perfect example but without putting in a turbo or a different engine i rather spend a whole lot of money on a forged engine and keep it naturally aspirated |

wont be that far off 200 with throttle bodys, cams, good exhaust manifold, high comp pistons, arp rod bolts and limiter raised |

Post subject: | Re: mods? |
right: Standard inlet won't see over 160bhp so ITB's will be needed or carbs, headwork cams bottom end work - rods etc exhaust ![]() manifold decent management as stated even with all that i think over 170bhp will be bloody good going or turbo it ![]() |

Jam was aiming for 230 240 na and we worked out that would cost up to 10k or so. Omex state around 165 on a 2.0 with their itbs. Less on the 1.8. Then upwards of that your struggling after cams without building a 2.1 engine. Get a 170 lump, fit bike bodies, aftermarket Ecu and better cams and you will see nearer 200, and cheaper. Don't waste time chasing upwards of 160 with the 1.8 na |

Post subject: | Re: mods? |
yeah i would do that but im just keeping the same engine so if 160 is all i can get ill be happy i plan to have all new parts uprated lines and all the body work to be in the best nick i can get it so as long as i can do that ill be happy |
