Fancied a set for the RS but never knew if it was over hyped and would only come into effect for dedicated track cars ![]() Would like to know the truth ![]() |

I know people who have lightweight wheels and they have noticed a difference from before and after. Really, you would need to see this kind of test done over say a quarter mile with 0-60 timings ect down the strip done on an average of 3 or so goes on each different wheel type. I think my friend steven or mark had lightweight wheels on his teg, ill ask them and find out and see what they thought of them if they did ![]() |

My friend steven had standard wheels on his car, mark said he had some lightweight wheels, he said he did notice a small difference on acceleration but that was mainly it. Probably a question for the DC2 forums ![]() ![]() |

Yeah most people put Rota Slipstreams on the Dc2's for weight purposes as they are a very lightweight 15" and 16" wheel for a good price. With boost it won't bother me too much as traction in 1st and 2nd will always be an issue on 15" alloys, but useful for all to know as I know Dc2's are heavier than fiesta's, but even saving say 40KG of inertia weight would make a HUGE difference on any car! Of course upgrading to a better more lightweight brake system will also help with unsprung weight so another thing to keep in mind, but that's off topic! |
