Hey, after cams the next upgrade for me in money terms would be a ITB set up, what engine management would be used to run say GSX-R 600 throttle bodies? i know RS220/steve is the one to ask but hes seems a bit distant on her of late |

From you post title, will be a different ecu to run bike carbs with ignition only ecu to one for injection, I have a 2D webcon ignition only ecu suitable to use with carbs but only issue with this set up is if a road car will have issues when it comes to MOT and emissions. As for injection ecu, you can go from the original ford ecu to megasquirt if you are willing to read up about fitting and mapping for about £300- £400 to £600-£700 for a emerald or omex ecu. I've currently got a emerald ecu and GSXR750 bodies fitted as they have a RR near by at also if you want it RR mapped for best results it will be another say £300 so time you get throttle bodies, manifold etc and set up can be near a grand, diy bike carbs set up could be lot cheaper, but as said MOT issue and might not be as clean running as injection, but either way is a must to push past 150bhp in my opinion |

I'd use megasquirt for throttle bodies, megajolt for carbs. I've had dealing with both before and its so easy to use ![]() |

how much can you get your hand son megasquirt for? i know its a DIY kit looking for the cheaper options really, as going all out is just silly money that you can turbo it for |

Megasquirt hasnt got to be all diy have a look at http://www.extraefi.co.uk they do fully built ones for about £300-350 and can include ignition drivers so don't need separate module lots of info on their site and will do a base map to get you running and then tweek it on the road using a lambda gauge, but you do need to get bit of knowledge to do it. I w ent the lazy more expensive route |

yea i follow you is there not a way to use your standard injectors on the the inlet manifold, sworn off after the injector part and then bikt throttle bodies like GSX-R ones and run it using the standard ecu but some clever linkage to run the 4 throttles? obviously some other way of implementing the AIT sensor too |

I only know a handful of people from various backgrounds that have mapped on the cheap where it hasn't ended in tears (yet). Get your money out. If there's one thing you need to do properly, it's engine management and tuning. |
